Somalia's Finest

Iman was the fist African American woman in the world to sign a cosmetics contract. After she signed the contract, she was recruited as a model by photographer Peter Beard. Once she was recruited to be a model, she relocated from Somalia to the United States.In 1979, Iman made history by being the first black woman to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine.She also portrayed an Egyptian Queen in Michael Jackson's video,"Do you Remember the Time?". Although she is a supermodel Iman has not forgotten where she came from. Iman is a spokesperson for Keep a Child Alive.Keep a child alive provides drugs to HIV/AIDS children and families in Africa and India. Iman is a great role model and Somalia's finest.
